The Roswell Refuge was established after a young woman was shot and killed by her estranged husband one evening as she left work. Her co-workers joined together to provide safe transportation and accommodations for those in abusive relationships. The Roswell Refuge had its humble beginnings in the basement of a local church and has grown to our present day facility which can house up to 30 adults and children.
Without this strong base of dedicated volunteers, and financial support from individuals and businesses, we would still be working in a basement offering bare minimum services to those victims.
Our Mission is Simple
The mission of the Roswell Refuge for Battered Adults is to provide a safe environment and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and to educate the community about the effects of domestic/sexual assault violence on adults, children, and the community-at-large.
Our Vision is Realistic
We want the people affected by our efforts to notice real improvements.
By building on our past successes and establishing strategic priorities, we will have the foundation to become stronger and more efficient than ever.
