The Roswell Refuge is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating domestic violence in our community. Our work is driven by dedicated individuals who realize the power to effect change comes from their tireless efforts.
Shelter
Our shelter for battered adults is open 24/7 and provides temporary shelter for those adults and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Advocates are always available to provide service to those in need of our assistance or those who simply need a friendly voice to talk with.
Treatment
Domestic Violence Offender’s Treatment and Intervention program. (DVOT/I). Our 52 session H.E.A.L.(Helping Explore Accountable Lifestyles) has been shown to stop the abuse and give offenders the necessary tools and skills to move forward and have healthy, non-abusive lives.
Care
The Roswell Refuge is also home to the Chaves County SANE unit. SANE stands for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. This unit provides forensic exams, trauma care, protected evidence chain of custody and courtroom testimony. SANE also provides Advocacy for those who wish to have additional support during the exam and counseling referrals.
Legal Advocacy
Temporary Protective Order help is available M-F at our Administration Office. Our court advocate will be happy to assist you in filling out your paperwork correctly and provide support during the hearing.
Thrift Store
The Roswell Refuge Thrift Store is open Monday – Friday from 9-2. Donations are always accepted and all proceeds from these sales and directed back into operating costs for our Shelter. 1215 N. Garden (N. side of the building) with convenient parking on E. Wool Bowl Circle and direct entrance into the Thrift Store. Find the purple door.
